I must confess, I'm addicted to make-up. I use way to much money on stuff I really don't need. Thats way I think its both great and bad that e.l.f. (eyes lips face), not that long ago, had their last ever 50% off everything sale. The funny thing here is that I put loads of stuff in my shopping basket and added the 50% off code, went over to pay with PayPal. And in PayPal i suddenly realized that I have got a new credit card and therefore had to change that. After much back and forth I apparently forgot to pay my e.l.f order and I did not realize that until I didn't get a package a week or so later. So I'm never doing that again.

On the great side, I didn't accumulate more products that will be used for a month and then just lie around and collect dust. On the bad side I really like e.l.f. products and considering the price, you get more than you pay. In my opinion at least.

I'm gonna try to do some collection posts. Maybe one on e.l.f. and one on Mac Cosmetics. Considering the fact that thats the companies I have the most products from. I'm thinking the whole package, swatches, pictures and a review.

Where have I been?

First of all, I'm so sorry for neglecting this blog. Second is that I have been super busy. I'm trying to combine being a full time student with a part-time job and a volunteer. I have calculated that I'm basically working 150% each week, compared to the Norwegian standard of work time. But now I'm here, and the worst thing is that I have bought so much excellent make-up, body products and hair care products. And I have not shown them to anyone except myself. And that is not the way to run a blog.

Right now I'm on a Pan project, you see that in january I visited a friend in London, England and I brought home approximately 10 kg of make-up, body products and hair care. Resulting in a £45 over weight fee, but it was worth it! So you can say that I put myself on a Project Pan because of that. I have to use up some to buy new stuff, just my deal with myself.

Since the last time I was a semi-good blogger I have discovered tons of new brands, might not be tons, but quite few. Amongst them is E.L.F., Lush Cosmetics, Nars and Inglot. To bad that I don't have stores that carry these brands in my hometown. E.L.F. is easy, just pop on their website and order, within 2 weeks the products are in your mail box. Lush Cosmetics are in Norway just in the wrong places. I can order online, but I don't feel like paying 120 NOK (aprox. £14) in shipping. Just have to be patient and wait for the next time I'm in Oslo or Trondheim. Nars I can get my hands on through the amazing internet, but it is expensive and therefore I only own one full size product (the blush in orgasm, if anybody was interested). Inglot is the worst, I love their eyeshadows, but I have to travel to London to get my hands on them. Me do not like.I might just take a flight over the little pond just to get more Inglot, Nars and Lush, who knows?

Well thats it for now, and I'm gonna try my best to update more often. And try to remember that I have a blog.

Seborrhoeic dermatitis - a way of life?

My biggest skin problem is seborrhoeic dermatitis and it can be hell! I have had it since I was about 9-10 and my breakout areas are mostly on my forehead, especially around the hair line, on the apples of my cheeks, around my nose, chin, almost the whole of my scalp and last but not least my earlobes.

Some days are great and some are just terrible. Imagine waking up to a face that is bright red, itchy and flakey knowing that you should just apply some prescription cream and drop the make-up. If there is one make-up item I can't live without it is my foundation. And I am therefore quite picky on foundations. I must have full coverage, but at the same time be light and not clog my pores. Right now my Mac Studio Sculpt foundation is doing the trick, but I think I have to look for a new one soon. For some reason I can't stick to one type of foundation for longer than 6-8 months.

Since seborrhoeic dermatitis is chronic and therefore I can just ease the symptoms and not cure them. I have one cream I can use when I have a heavy breakout and it is called Pevisone and is a Kortikosteorid and a Antimykotikum if that makes any sense. But basically it is a mix of cortisone and antibiotics. This cream have an effect because seborrhoeic dermatitis is an inflammation in the skin. On an everyday basis I wash my face morning and evening to prevent breakouts and I have to be careful on what I put in my face. I stay away from things that are heavily perfumed and if I have some irritation with a product I just stop using it.

But now to the fascinating aspect, the fact that my allergy shot also prevents my symptoms. I have heavy pollen allergy and each year in the beginning of june I get a shot with Kortikosteorid, the same cortisone thats in my cream! So the day after I woke up after I had the shot my skin was almost perfect! Just to bad that I can't get the shot more than once a year. Don't want to risk the long term side effects. But I think I have to ask my doctor if there are some other things I can take to help get rid of the redness and flaking.

So thats it for today, just an explanation on my skin and what helps me.

Mac Prep a Papier Collection Review

So I finally got my hands on the Prep a Papier Collection from Mac. You se that one of the irritating things about living in Norway is that the new collections is released the 15th the mont after the States. But here are my review and swatches of the products I bought from this collection.

Lipsticks:
Dressmaker, Dressmaker

Made to order

These lipsticks are lusters so they come on very sheer, but if you apply more layers you get more color on your lips. My Mac counter got in 3 of the Made to order lipstick and I got the second one, 5 minutes after it opened. Lucky me!
I also wanted to buy the Fold and Tuck tinted lipglass, but the color didn't speak to me when I was at the counter.

Eyeshadow:
Cut to Fit

This is a lovely coraly-bronze shimmer color and I love it! Now I just need to get me some more eyeshadows in the same color range. I also wanted Bamboo, but that was one boring color.

Paint Pot:
Coral Crepe

I'm in love with this paint pot! It is the most beautiful color I have ever used, and it is super easy to apply. I have used this by itself all overt the lid or in a combination with Cut to Fit with intensifies the beautiful Cut to Fit!

Blush:
Instant Chick

A sheer coral pinkish blush, perfect for the spring and summer looks.

Mac Pro Palette from eBay review

So I got the Mac Pro palette that I ordered from eBay to day. Jippi!
And it it genuine! What a brilliant day. Here are some pictures of it to you guys.

I am very happy with the result of my eBay shopping. The only problem i experienced with the seller lukas3434 (registered as a business seller on eBay) was that he was out of stock when I ordered. I think that as a seller you should tell you customer that, I didn't know that he was out of shock until I mailed him and asked when the palette was going to be shipped. But in the end I got a great product, genuine as far as I can tell and I will most likely do business with lukas3434 again if I'm gonna need another palette.

So after I had been at the post office I went straight home and depoted the rest of my Mac eyeshadows and put them in the palette. I already have a quad, but I'm going to use that when I travel. An easy way to bring just a couple of shadows. I also depoted my two The Body Shop eyeshadows (acually without andy heat at all, if you take a look under the sticker at the bottom you will find a hole where you can press inn a pin or somthing). The Body Shop eyeshadows are just a tiny bit smaller that Mac ones and fit great in the palette.

A review: Bio Silk Therapy

So I just got myself a bottle of Bio Silk Therapy, after my hairdresser recommended it to to me. It is supposed to be a miracle product, not only for your hair but also for your skin. It is supposed to give your hair beautiful shine, while it is a heat protectant. It is good for chemical treated hair, spit ends and so on. What my hairdresser said that caught my attention was that it also could be a treatment for various skin deceases. Since I have chronic redness and eczema around my nose, chin, cheeks and almost my whole forehead I tend to jump on everything that can help me get rid of this, or at least lighten the symptoms (I am most likely going to need laser treatment to get rid of it all).

So I bought a bottle to try out this wonderful oil, both on my hair and on my face, and even thought it is expensive I think it is worth it. My hair is shiny and feels softer, and even more better; my skin has stopped itching! And it actually looks less red. The anti-redness effect is supposed to take a couple of weeks so that just have to be me. The eczema is almost symptom free at the moment and I have stopped using my prescription creme (not a big fan of putting cortisone on my face a couple of days a week).

The bottle I got is quite small 5.64 fl. oz. or 150 ml, but considering that you only need a couple of drops for each application it is going to last me a long time. I apply the oil in my hair after I wash it, and the once more if I'm going to straighten it. I might even put a bit in after the straightening to get more shine. Often the problem of adding oil to your hair is that it gets oily, but with the Bio Silk you can add quite a lot before you get oily. Considering the fact that you only need a couple of drops of product of each apply, you have to pour it in your hand to get to much. For my skin I use about 2 drops each morning and night in combination with my regular moisturizer, I kind of mix them together.

So thats it, a bit long but a great product like this deserves its space.

Spring nails

This is a funny spring look where I combined the pastel trend with a darker color for some contrast.

The nail polishes I used are IsaDora Wonder Nail in 619 Vintage Mint, Chanel Nail Colour in 337 Noir Ceramic and Mac Overlacquer.

I started with to coats of the mint color and let them dry 5 minutes each. I then took the black color and drew a line diagonally across my nail, I then filled in the rest of the space with the same color. I only used one coat of the black color. After waiting in about 15-20 minuets I proceeded with the over lacquer. It is smart to wait this long before applying the top coat to avoid distortion of the colors.
